Prairie Bluff
Greeley, Colorado
Sitting atop a bluff in eastern Colorado, this is a place of expansive views and expansive living. As the family gathering space, the home supports interactions and entertainment. A spacial game of compression and release create a variety of “rooms” – often defined by volume shifts that introduce daylight from clerestory windows.
Externally the house has two distinct scales. Entered from the bluff, the appearance is more humble, with low slung flat roofs with broad overhangs and a sense of the horizontality of the surrounding landscape. The house then terraces down with walk-out rooms below, to outdoor living at poolside. Always there is light and views with direct connections to al fresco living.
