Home on the Knoll: Next Gen Update

This home on the knoll was a Barrett Studio design that was constructed years ago. The organic modern design had served the original owners well until they reached a point in their lives that mountain living was no longer practical. The architecture remained relevant in its exceptional celebration of site, views, and light.

A new owner came to the house with a strong resonance with all the design qualities of place. That said, there were aspects of the original design that needed to be refreshed and reconfigured to their lifestyle. We were brought back with the original contractor to reimagine the place we all hold so dear.

The main areas of redesign are to open and completely recreate the kitchen and dining experience. The primary bedroom and bath will also be reimagined. In the end, the house will retain its original ‘character’ but this is a rare opportunity to suite new lifestyles and technical possibilities that were unavailable 30 years ago.
